Steven Pienaar Seeks Spurs Exit

This is the transfer window, which means I can provide you with articles that appear in the Daily Mail and not feel bad about it. The latest rumor from the Fail is that Steven Pienaar wants out. The South African midfielder wants to be playing regular first-team football and doesn't seem to care much about next year's playing time. Who will be willing to give him playing time? None other than Mark Hughes and Queens Park Rangers.

Q.P.R. have a new manager in Hughes and owner Tony Fernandes is willing to spend money to ensure that Rangers avoid the drop. Unfortunately, Hughes has found deals tough to come by as proposed moves for Nedam Onuoha, Alex, Bobby Zamora, and others have yet to come to fruition.

Tottenham Hotspur have quoted Q.P.R. a price of £6 million pounds for Pienaar, which is double what Spurs paid for him when he signed from Everton last January. Q.P.R. seem unwilling to meet that valuation, but have offered to at least let Spurs break even.

I'm not inclined to let Pienaar go, especially with Champions League football more than likely coming back to White Hart Lane next season. The winger can still do a job for Spurs and is an excellent player to have in the squad. That said, if Q.P.R. will pay us £6 million pounds then I won't be too upset to see him go.
