Ah, there is nothing like a ton of massive Premiership fixtures right in the middle of Transfer Deadline Day. You're in the middle of a crazy day here at the sites, as all of our writers are losing their collective minds on this roller coaster of emotions.
But anyways, Tottenham are playing a game today! The opponent is a relegation-threatened Wigan side, currently on the bottom of the table. The Latics are in poor form, losing three straight league matches. Roberto Martinez's side has been hamstrung by an especially bad attack, tallying only 19 goals through 22 matches. Making things worse, the team's best attacker, Hugo Rodallega, may be playing his last game for Wigan as numerous rumors have him being sold after the game. A boost for Wigan should come in new acquisition Jean Beausejour. Beausejour, a Chilean international, should provide a jolt down the left wing for Wigan.
The Writer's Prediction League continues. Ashlock has tightened it up up top with a run of good predicting, while there's a dogfight at the bottom for last place. The rules remain--one point for a correct prediction, a bonus point for getting the score correct. Here are the current standings:
Name | Score |
Ryan | 17 |
Ashlock | 15 |
Mechanick | 12 |
Kevin | 11 |
The Roosevelts | 10 |
Evan | 10 |
This week's predictions after the jump:
Kevin: What is football? 1-0 Spurs, I guess?
Ashlock: I'm still waiting for that big win. I'm convinced we'll get it against Wigan. 5-0 Spurs
Mechanick: This is a bad Wigan squad. Luka goes H.A.M. 3-0 Spurs
Ryan: It's the return of Weezus! 3-1 Spurs
The Roosevelts: A disappointing victory as Spurs once again come in unfocused expecting the win to be handed to them. Goals from Adebayor and Rafa. 2-1 Spurs
Evan: Spurs cruise to a comfortable win over the the bottom of the EPL barrel. 2-0 Spurs
