Tottenham Transfer Rumors: Vedran Corluka move looks legitimate

Remember when Charlie was awesome?
Remember when Charlie was awesome?

Mechanick posted on the Vedran Corluka to Bayer Leverkusen rumor last night, back when it seemed just like every other transfer rumor from a rag. Now, it's looking a lot more legitimate. The Guardian has posted on it, and they're just one of many mainstream media outlets reporting that the two teams are in discussions. Charlie has only made one start in the Premier League this season, and is very much behind Kyle Walker at this point. Injuries haven't helped, but he's no longer the starting right back.

This makes sense for Bayer, who are in need of some back line help. This could be a domino effect situation, where Tottenham will be linked to every defender on the planet if Charlie leaves. If he moves, it would likely be on a loan with an option to buy. This would leave the club dangerously thin at right back for 5 months, but there's no reason to believe that Kyle Naughton won't be part of the first team next year after his great performances with Norwich.
