Marseille Chairmen Reveals He Turned Down Huge Offer For Loic Remy

Remember when Tottenham Hotspur were being linked pretty heavily with a move for Marseille striker Loic Remy? Well, it turns out that not only were we interested in the French striker, but we put in a rather large bid. The bid was for £18.3 million according to Marseille chairman Vincent Labrune.

The French club turned down the move, though no reasoning is giving. I'm assuming L'OM value Remy a little higher than the nearly £20 million that Spurs offered or they wanted to hold onto him for the remainder of the season. Whatever the reasoning, that's a stupid amount of money.

The good news is that Tottenham Hotspur, apparently, have some cash to throw around. The bad news is we don't have quite enough cash to get a player we wanted. Even if that player is a striker that doesn't score much. But hey, maybe if we pony up a few more million we can snag Leandro Damiao.
