It's the first done deal of the day. Tottenham Hotspur have announced via the official club website that Vedran Corluka has joined Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen on loan until the end of the season. The club isn't providing any more details at the moment, but this is presumably a loan with an option to purchase. As for the price, it's fairly pointless to speculate at the moment, and we'll find out in the coming days.
Charlie has only started once in the Premier League this year as Kyle Walker has become first choice. The cover at right back is minimal with Charlie leaving, but Spurs will probably be hoping to raise some money with a sale. Kyle Naughton and Adam Smith are both performing well on loan, so Charlie probably didn't have much of a chance of making the team next season.
For now, Danny Rose, Jake Livermore and Younes Kaboul are the right back cover. None are natural right backs. Stay healthy, Mr. Walker. And a fond farewell to Charlie, who did well for us and never complained about a lack of playing time. I wish him all the best at Bayer.
