Harry Redknapp Speaks To Press; Confirms Saha Deal

After the Everton match Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp took some time to talk to the press and address a number of the transfer rumors floating around. Harry, as usual had a lot to say and I'll do my best to summarize it below. As near as possible these will be direct quotes, but bear in mind they may not have the exact same wording.

On Louis Saha: The deal is done. It's a permanent deal. The lad needs a change of scenery. I spoke to Rio Ferdinand and he said Saha is the best center forward he's ever played against.

On Defensive Cover: Sebastian Bassong could move on loan to Wolverhampton Wanderers but that depends on Spurs getting cover in. Harry wouldn't name that player, but it appears that time is running out on that deal. That player, according to Sky Sports is Ryan Nelson.

On Roman Pavlyuchenko: The Pav deal is close to done. He's going back to Russia, I don't know which club as Daniel is handling all those negotiations.

On Milos Krasic: The boy from Juventus didn't want to come on loan. I wanted to buy him years ago, but he cost £15 million. So now we've had the opportunity to loan him, but he wanted a permanent move and we weren't going to pay that price.

On Steven Pienaar: David Moyes was keen to bring him in and I told him I'd like to help him out but it depends on us getting the boy from Juventus in. We didn't get the boy from Juve in and we've picked up some injuries so Pienaar is staying.
