Officially Official: Wolverhampton Wanderers Sign Sebastien Bassong On Loan

Tottenham Hotspur have completed a move that no one had even considered at the beginning of the day, sending Sebastien Bassong on loan to Wolverhampton Wanderers, at least according to Wolves official site (it's now on the Tottenham site as well). The move will be only until the end of the season and will, potentially, offer Bassong with an opportunity to play some first team football.

Bassong could see time immediately at left back as Stephen Ward has been less than spectacular for Wolves this season. Bassong may have a harder time to breaking in to the rotation at center back with Christophe Berra, Roger Johnson and Richard Stearman seem fairly firmly entrenched.

This is a good move for Bassong and could help increase his value if he plays regularly and plays well for Wolves. Wolves can certainly use the versatile young defender. The problem is that Tottenham are now a bit short of cover at the back. Hopefully, this means that there is someone coming in. Just so long as the someone isn't Ryan Nelson.
