Spurs Weighing £15m Move for Blackburn Duo

Hoilett- On his way to White Hart Lane?
Hoilett- On his way to White Hart Lane?

Well, we've officially reached transfer rumor season. The Times is reporting that Tottenham Hotspur is pursuing a £15 million double swoop for Blackburn Rovers' Christopher Samba and Junior Hoilett. The move would make perfect sense for Spurs, as injuries to Aaron Lennon, William Gallas, and Ledley King have left the team perilously thin at both right wing and center back.

Both players have known to have been Tottenham targets. Samba, 27, made known his desire to play Champions League football and would look to start for Spurs. The centerback is in the prime of his career and has proven to be very durable, a quality needed in a Tottenham defensive acquisition.

Hoilett, 21, has been one of the young stars of the Premiership season. The Canadian has proven to be adept playing either wing, scoring three goals and a team leading four assists. Hoilett's contract expires at the end of the season and the winger seems unwilling to re-sign with Rovers. Rovers will be looking to move Hoilett, and with little leverage the price should set for a buyer's market.

This combined move would do well to ameliorate two of Tottenahm's weakest positions. It will be interesting to see if Tottenham can hold off other interested parties to make this deal happen. But assuming their prices are similar, who do you see as the better acquisition of the pair? Vote and sound off below:
