For those of you who are unaware, I do not sit in the press box at White Hart Lane and the FA Cup Third Round match between Tottenham Hotspur and Cheltenham Town was not on television. This means, of course, that I did not watch the game with my own eyes and that I cannot write a proper match report. That's fine, as long as we're being genuine about everything!
Tottenham won 3-0 playing a side filled with professionals, but without any of their recent first choice players. Aaron Lennon and Michael Dawson both started their first games after coming back from injury, and both were eventually subbed off in the second half without aggravating their injuries. Jermain Defoe was also subbed off healthy. A win, time for players who needed time and no injuries. Great success!
Defoe scored our first goal in the first half, poaching an effort off of Giovani dos Santos that the radio announcers said would have gone in anyway. Roman Pavlyuchenko added another goal in the second half, while Gio got one of his own late. From what the BBC radio announcers had to say, it sounded like the passing between Gio, Pav and Defoe was fantastic throughout the game.
And now, we move on to the Everton game. Healthy, and coming off a win. Harry's got a full plethora of fit and in-form players to pick his 18-man squad from. We'll see what the FA Cup Fourth Round draw brings shortly.
