Happy Thursday, Spursland! I hate international breaks. I absolutely hate them. I am not sure if I hate them as much as I hate the sound coming out of Muse's new iPad guitar, but it is definitely a close race. Good thing this one is almost over.

And now the "news"

Modric Urges Bale To Jump To Madrid- BBC

All of Croatia can just lick it. Why are they seemingly, as a country, just having a go at us? Maybe they are still pissed about how we treated Niko, but the reason doesn't matter because they need to pipe down or it is gonna be Morphin time. In fact, if everyone who has left the team in, say, the last 6 months could just stop talking about us I think that would be lovely.

Bale Better Than Giiggs At His Peak, Says Croatia Coach- Wales Online

Okay so I see that the comments aren't going to just stop. Maybe Tottenham are just a really en vogue topic over there these days. I mean, every country has its odd crazes every now and then. As to how accurate this statement is, I can't tell you because Ryan Giggs peak was sometime in the early 1930s and I wasn't alive yet. Get it? Because he is so old!

Feet Of Clay, Heart Of Iron- SB Nation

Clear eyes, good clay, can't lose.

Ice 1, German Booty 0- SB Nation Look IIt

Somebody, anybody who speaks German, I need a translation of what he says just before he "takes the plunge".

Maryland Unveils New Even More Marylandy Uniforms- Testudo Times

Go on, get it out of your system. Tell all of my fellow Marylanders how much they suck. You know you want to.

AVB Is A Breath Of Fresh Air- We Ain't Got No History

I agree with this wholeheartedly. However, I must point out that this Tim Palmer fellow is clearly in the danga zone

St. James Park Might Be Back- Coming Home Newcastle

Oh pretty, pretty please.

Lance Armstrong Dropped By NIke, Steps Down From Livestrong- Podium Cafe

I tend to care when athletes dope. I do consider it cheating. Weirdly, I never felt that way about Cycling. I don't know why, maybe it was that the percentage of those who were doping was so much higher than other sports, but I just don't care. I still like Lance Armstrong, not as a person because just bout everyone who comes in contact with him without a TV camera has nothing but bad things to say about him, but as an athlete he did, and still, does inspire me. He made me fall in love with a sport I hadn't watched before. That may seem hypocritical, and it is. It may not make sense to you, but I just don't care. In the classic film The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance Maxwell Scott said the immortal line "When legend becomes fact, print the legend". Maybe just this once can we print the legend?
