Tottenham Hotspur is still battling injury troubles ahead of an away trip to Slovenia to face NK Maribor. Mousa Dembele, who missed Saturday's game against Chelsea with a hip problem, is still battling his injury which will force him not to play in the Europa League fixture. However, the club view his status for the weekend's match against Southampton optimistically.
Two other Tottenham Hotspur players were not on the plane, as Gareth Bale stayed at home after the recent birth of his child and Emmanuel Adebayor recovers from a back injury. The long term injury list remains, as Scott Parker (Achilles), Benoit Assou-Ekotto and Younes Kaboul (both knee) are all sidelined, however the club apparently views BAE being back in training in two weeks..
The absences should give some younger Tottenham players a chance to play, as the likes of Andros Townsend, Jake Livermore, and Gylfi Sigurdsson look to start. Kyle Naughton, on the bench this weekend, looks likely to get a start after recovering from his ankle injury. Reports also claim Hugo Lloris will start in goal after sitting on the bench for the Chelsea match.
Tottenham Squad: Lloris, Cudicini, Naughton, Walker, Caulker, Gallas, Dawson, Vertonghen, Smith, Livermore, Parrett, Huddlestone, Sandro, Sigurdsson, Lennon, Townsend, Falque, Dempsey, Defoe.
