Back in the winning column! After a rough month of football, a 3-1 victory over West Ham on Sunday has Spurs climbing back up the table. Tottenham sit in 7th place, five points away from the top-4.
A challenge comes in the midweek today from Liverpool. The Reds are recovering after a rough start to the season, located at 11th place in the table. Luis Suarez has put the team on his back, scoring 10 goals this season as nobody else on the team has scored more than one. Steven Gerrard still drives the team from midfield, but can he defeat Spurs at home?
As for the prediction league, we have a new leader on top--Ed! We also saw Menno drop off a perfect prediction, getting himself back in the game. The rules remain the same in the Prediction League--one point for a correct prediction, a bonus point for getting the score correct. Here are the current standings:
Name | Score |
Ed | 8 |
Ashlock | 7 |
Mechanick | 7 |
Petrilli | 7 |
The Roosevelts | 6 |
Kevin | 5 |
Uncle Menno | 5 |
Ryan | 4 |
This week's predictions:
Kevin: Yeah, I can't pick anything but a win against Liverpool. 1-0 Spurs.
Mechanick: Deuce provides the narrow difference, as Suarez is held. 1-0 Spurs.
Ryan: Do you think Liverpool yearns for the days of Seventhpool? 2-1 Spurs.
Ashlock: 2-0 Spurs, because I hate Lolverpool.
The Roosevelts: A win in a game that is just down the wire bananas. Like Defoe scores in stoppage time then stops and eats a banana, he needs his potassium. 3-2 Spurs
Ed: Liverpool, who lest we forget are unbeaten in eight games, have been steadily improving in recent weeks as a result of Brendan Rodgers' preferred style of play taking hold and Luis Suarez's red hot form. Keeping the little Uruguayan quiet is going to be a big task for our centre backs, and I just don't see them fully succeeding. On the other side of things, however, I have faith that Bale, Dempsey, Defoe and Lennon can cause Liverpool's back line some problems as well, and thus I'm calling this one as a 2-2 Draw.
Petrilli: TBD (he can leave it in the comments)
Uncle Menno: I refuse to pick a Suarez team to win. 3-1 Spurs.
