Hugo Lloris will get an opportunity to face off against his old side in the first knockout round of the UEFA Europa League, with Tottenham Hotspur coming up against Olympique Lyonnais. While there are teams in better form than Lyon and who play in more adverse weather conditions that Tottenham could have drawn, the French giants are definitely one of the toughest sides that Spurs could have potentially come up against.
Lyon are one of three teams currently tied on top of the table in Ligue 1. They've done well to stay competitive after a major rebuilding project and are likely to return to Champions League next season, but they aren't quite as good as they were during their run of Ligue 1 titles and Champions League knockout stage appearances.
Obviously, most of the build-up to the tie is going to center around Lloris playing against his former side for the first time. It'll probably be a great experience for him ... even if Andre Villas-Boas ends up starting Brad Friedel.
The winners of this tie will face the winners of Cluj - Inter Milan.
