Writers Prediction League - Spurs at Aston Villa

Logjam. After getting Stoke'd last week into a 0-0 draw, Tottenham Hotspur now finds itself in a four-way tie for fourth place. The games are coming fast and furious now, as Tottenham tries to regain some momentum in the festive period.

Today's Boxing Day special has Spurs traveling to face Aston Villa. The Villans have been wildly inconsistent, hitting form in December before getting smashed 8-0 by Chelsea on Sunday. The team's breakout star has been Christian Benteke, the young Belgian forward who leads the team in goals and assists. Brad Guzan has proven himself an asset in goal, but his centerbacks have been the team's liability of late.

As for the Prediction League, Ashlock dropped another perfect prediction, improving him to three straight perfect. The rules remain the same in the Prediction League--one point for a correct prediction, a bonus point for getting the score correct. Here are the current standings:

Kevin: Last game was simply us getting Stoke'd. We're better than that. 2-0 Spurs

Mechanick: Villa responds from their Chelsea drubbing, but Spurs have the edge. 1-0 Spurs

Ryan: Rum, whiskey, beer, whiskey, wine. It's Christmas. 2-1 Spurs

Ashlock: Villa lost to Chelsea 8-0. They should be up for this one, but not enough to overcome Tottenham. 2-1 Spurs

The Roosevelts: 3-1 Spurs, because 3 wise men and one annoying kid with a drum... It made sense in my mind.

Ed: It's impossible to really know which Villa you're getting at the moment, so it's tough to predict a score. I'm sticking my neck out for a 2-2 Draw.
