Happy New Year! Today's game away to Sunderland marks the end of the 2012 for Tottenham Hotspur. It was a season of highs (finishing fourth in the league), lows (Chelsea winning the Champions League), and changes (bye bye Harry, hello AVB).
The team in the way in this last game is Sunderland. The Black Cats are riding high off a 1-0 Boxing Day win against Manchester City. Sunderland boasts a bevy of attacking talent in Steven Fletcher, Stephane Sessegnon, Adam Johnson, James McClean, and Sebastien Larsson, yet the team has struggled to score. The defense has been solid, as Simon Mignolet has improved greatly in goal this season.
As for the Prediction League, all but Ed predicted a win for Spurs over Aston Villa. The rules remain the same in the Prediction League--one point for a correct prediction, a bonus point for getting the score correct. Here are the current standings:

Kevin: Despite what Manchester City is trying to get you to believe, Sunderland isn't very good. 2-0 Spurs
Mechanick: Sex Jan contains Fletcher, while Azza takes advantage of Danny Rose's absence. 1-0 Spurs
Ryan: Down with MON. 2-1 Spurs.
Ashlock: I predicted 3-1 Spurs when I talked to Simon from Roker Report a couple weeks ago. I suppose I have to stick with that.
The Roosevelts: 0-0 Draw, because we ALWAYS play great the game after we play to our potential; also Sunderland are boring.
Ed: Sunderland have been good at one thing this season and that's being dull. Against an increasingly creative and confident Spurs, this won't be enough. 2-0 Spurs.
Petrilli: 2-1 Spurs. Moussa tells Bale than anything you can do I can do better. Mia Hamm shows up. Hilarity ensues.
Uncle Menno: Man City aside, this is a team that Spurs should beat. And I think they will. 3-0 Spurs.
