Happy Thursday, ladies and gentlemen. Did you remember that the Europa League was a thing? I just remembered literally five minutes ago. Today, Tottenham Hotspur takes on Panathinaikos in the final group stage game of the competition, and they need either a draw or a win to qualify for the knockout stage.
Spurs play Everton at the weekend and are dealing with a number of injuries, but Andre Villas-Boas takes the Europa League seriously, as everyone knows, so Tottenham are playing close to a first team.
Tottenham Hotspur starting XI (4-4-2): Brad Friedel; Kyle Naughton, Jan Vertonghen, Steven Caulker, Kyle Walker; Clint Dempsey, Sandro, Tom Carroll, Aaron Lennon; Jermain Defoe, Emmanuel Adebayor
Panathinaikos starting XI: TBA
Heck yeah, 4-4-2. I'm a fan. I'm also a fan of Tom Carroll getting a start and hope he proves he can play with the big boys.
Kickoff is at 8 p.m. in the UK, 3 p.m. ET, and this game is actually on your glowing picture box! FOX in the US, Channel 4 in the UK.
