Happy Friday, Spursland! I am happy to say that I bring you breaking news: Rumors are swirling around the Baltimore DC Metro Area that Spurs May be coming to M&T Bank Stadium this summer for a friendly against Liverpool (Editor's note: Yes, we posted about this last month. They are also going to LA and New York, but reading is hard for Mr. Roosevelts). If this comes to pass I look forward to seeing some of you there.
And now the other "news"
We get that sometimes you need to go down to avoid injury and we have seen you get wiped out heavily many time, but don't act like you don't dive. Part of "diving" isn't just going down easily, as in drawing a charge in basketball. Part of it is also the embellishment, the faking of injuries, the clutching at ankles or faces as if they are gushing blood. And while Gareth, my boy, you aren't always guilty of going down super softly, when you do go down there is a rather large amount of thrashing about and generally acting as if someone nailed you with a scattergun.
You know what? If you gave me a choice between seeing Spurs play a Carling Cup match at the Lane or seeing this match, I would pick this one. Caveat: This only applies if I have already been to a game at the Lane, since I am American wanker poser ass, I have not as yet.
Hope you are ready for a freaking pay cut, fella.
Whats happening around SB Nation after the jump
Mount Royal is SB Nation's newest footy blog. This one is focused on the Montreal Impact so head on over and say hello, you merry band of thieves. Don't be afraid to give them a kind word. They will probably need it this season.
This is great to see. Having been to several CONCACAF Champions League games that have had an attendance of maybe two or three thousand apiece, it is nice to see a change and the only real change is the attitude among the supporters that it isn't a meaningless fixture.
This is a must read. It deals very directly with the problem of phasing out long help mainstays in the lineup when they feel they can still play. Hey, what's up, Chelsea!
