Pants On Head Crazy Alert: David Bentley Could Feature In FA Cup Semifinal

He's baaaaaack!
He's baaaaaack!

Some things in football are completely logical. This is not.

"We haven't got loads of players and looking at the squad, there is every chance David Bentley could be back on the bench. He is in the running," Harry Redknapp said ahead of Tottenham Hotspur's FA Cup semifinal against Chelsea .

"David hasn't even played a game this season. He has been injured since he went to West Ham, but I'm struggling to find seven subs."

It's no secret that Spurs are dealing with a rash of injuries. With Ledley King, Michael Dawson and Younes Kaboul unavailable, there are just two centerbacks available to Redknapp. Tom Huddlestone is still out, Louis Saha is questionable with a groin problem and Niko Kranjcar looks like a doubt with a bad knee.

We get it, Spurs don't have a lot of players to choose from, but still, David Bentley? Besides having not played a match all season, he was loaned to a Championship club, West Ham, prior to the season for a reason and when talks of a January loan came up, it was the San Jose Earthquakes and MK Dons linked to him. That is his quality at the moment.

But Bentley could feature against a London rival in a FA Cup semifinal! At some point this season, Ashton Kutcher is going to jump out and tell us all, "you just got punked" because this season really doesn't make any sense. LIke actually zero sense.
