Tottenham Injury Update: Assou-Ekotto Out For The Season

So what do you want first, the good news or the bad news?

The bad news out of Spurs Lodge is that starting left back Benoit Assou-Ekotto is out for the rest of the season with the killer combo of a dislocated shoulder and knee problems. Assou-Ekotto has been in form that has earned him All Premiership XI claims this season, and his loss leaves a massive gap for Tottenham in defense. The team only has two trained left-backs remaining, as Danny Rose looks to fill in for BAE. Gareth Bale remains a possibility to move back into defense.

On the bright side however, Emmanuel Adebayor and Younes Kaboul both look to return to the Tottenham side against Blackburn. Adebayor missed last week with a hamstring injury (and/or a falling out with Harry Redknapp, according to reports), but the Togolese striker looks primed to return to a Tottenham squad needing an injection of talent at striker. Younes Kaboul's return should also boost a Spurs defense that has missed the influential center back since Easter.
