The rumors of Tottenham Hotspur's fringe players departing for lower-tier Premier League teams is something we've become accustomed to over the last few years, and we're only going to hear more of it this season. Vedran Corluka, Sebastien Bassong, Kyle Naughton, David Bentley, Jermaine Jenas, Niko Kranjcar, Giovani Dos Santos, Bongani Khumalo and Steven Pienaar are all still under contract with the team. Some of them will leave. There are going to be rumors about all of them all summer.
Let's kick it off with two about JJ and Johnny Two Saints!
Queens Park Rangers, who narrowly survived relegation, are supposedly interested in Jenas. If it sounds fishy that QPR are interested in a guy coming off a serious knee injury who gets paid too much, that's probably because it is fishy. However, Jenas fits the system (if he's healthy) and Joey Barton is suspended for 12 games for being a massive bellend.
Swansea are supposedly 'keen on Dos Santos', but don't hold your breath. Liverpool are sniffing around Brendan Rodgers and the Swans just signed Gylfi Sigurdsson on a permanent deal. As much as I rate Gio, I'm not sure he'd be more than a three-position backup at Swansea.
Does someone have the transfer mad libs template handy?
