Here's a fun rumor you're going to hear a lot of, especially when the manager situation is finally settled. The fine folks over at Setanta Sports are linking Schalke 04 and Netherlands striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar to Tottenham Hotspur.
By now, I'm sure you know the drill. They don't actually cite any sources here, or quote any management from either Tottenham or Schalke, or quote Huntelaar, or quote his agent. This means that this rumor essentially amounts to a guy sitting at his computer having a laugh about what Setanta lets him post, and Setanta lets him post it because duh, traffic.
Huntelaar might not be a realistic target for Tottenham because I presume he wants Champions League football, but his options to get it while leaving Schalke and getting paid big money aren't great. Bayern Munich are reportedly after Edin Dzeko, and Schalke aren't going to sell to them anyway. Manchester United have strikers and don't have that much money. Chelsea and Manchester City haven't been ever reported as interested. He's already been to Madrid and Milan.
This narrows his realistic options down to Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus and Malaga. Since he didn't do well in Serie A, he might not want to go to a lesser league in Ligue 1, and Malaga still aren't exactly a 'big club'. he's not an entirely unrealistic target. He'd fit in well as the center forward in Andre Villas-Boas' 4-3-3, but now I'm getting way ahead of myself.
I don't expect the Hunter to come to Spurs, but hey, fun rumor you guys!
