Andre Villas-Boas is so last week, now it's time for Laurent Blanc! After rumors spread last week that Villas-Boas was Daniel Levy's choice to be the next Tottenham Hotspur manager, rumor now is that Blanc is his choice. Sky Sports is the big name outlet reporting that Levy has contacted Blanc, but they are hardly the only ones and there have been rumblings that Levy admires Blanc for months now so it fits.
Blanc has France playing better than they have in years and was was successful at Bordeaux, winning the league and league cup double before taking of Les Bleus. Those two stops account for all of his managerial experience, but the 46-year-old did star in Ligue 1, La Liga, Serie A and even in the Premier League with Manchester United as a player so he has been around.
The rumor mill just keeps going here. Blanc fits and makes sense, but so do several other guys, VIllas-Boas included. Which are legitimate? If you know and you're not Daniel Levy you are lying*, but it would be tough for anyone to find fault in a Blanc here. He may not wow you and he may not be the sexiest pick, but he's a very good manager and checks off every box required for the next manager.
* There's no way that Levy was cool in high school. This entire saga is probably his trying to be the cool kid before prom with his choice of girls since he never got that, and maybe didn't have a date at all.
