Not long after rumors dropped that Andre Villas-Boas was going to be offered a contract to take over as Tottenham Hotspur manager, new rumors emerged that France manager Laurent Blanc is actually the team's top choice to take over their vacant managerial post, and that the team has made contact with him. This makes sense from Tottenham's perspective; Blanc is a good young manager who has achieved roughly as much as Villas-Boas in his career. It makes sense that they would want to hire him.

But, here's what I'm not getting, and please inform me if my thinking is way off base at the moment. Why on earth is Blanc taking calls from anyone right now, especially about another job, when he's in the middle of a major tournament with a France team that is performing well. The rumors dropped that he's the guy a day before his team had a massive game?

I find it very hard to believe that Blanc has spoken to anyone about taking over at Tottenham. If I were him and my agent informed me that Tottenham were interested in hiring me, I'd tell my agent to leave me alone until the end of the tournament. Does this seem reasonable to everyone?

Either this story is nonsense or I'm missing something. Rant over.
