Daniel Levy is an astute businessman, and he obviously knows football. He was correct to tell Luka Modric that he wasn't leaving Tottenham Hotspur, while Arsene Wenger sold Samir Nasri and Cesc Fabregas for less money than they should have. He's done a lot of work towards getting the team a new stadium, and the Tottenham teams under his direction have been the club's best teams since Glenn Hoddle played at White Hart Lane.
For any Tottenham supporter to not also support Daniel Levy would be ludicrous. He's done incredible things for the club, and the club is probably going to be in very good financial and footballing shape going forward because of him. But that doesn't mean he isn't killing me slowly.
Because for all of Levy's qualities, his stubbornness is bad for my health. Literally any other chairman would have Andre Villas-Boas and Jan Vertonghen locked up by now, ready to move the club forward and prepare for preseason. Instead, Levy's managed to reportedly piss off AVB by flirting with Laurent Blanc, while Vertonghen has been 'close' to signing with Tottenham for a month.
We're not going to have a manager this week. I'd honestly be surprised if Levy made a hire next week. He'll piss off AVB some more by continuing to talk to others even though Villas-Boas is the top candidate, and he'll haggle with him over the last five grand in his contract instead of just signing the damn thing and getting a manager in.
I am so, so, so sick of this. But it's mostly because I can't even rant and rave about how I hate Levy to relieve the stress. I know he's great at his job and that we can't do any better, and that's what's causing my insides to eat themselves as the club spends weeks doing absolutely nothing.
