A report from the Russian International News Agency, Ria Novosta, says that Lokomotiv Moscow have confirmed the signing of Tottenham Hotspur defender Vedran Corluka. I checked Lokomotiv's official site and as of this posting there is nothing up about the deal (on the English language site) and of course Spurs haven't said anything about it. [See update below]

Corluka has allegedly signed a three-year contract with the Russian Premier League club, which is managed by former Croatian national team manager Slaven Bilic. The article quotes Lokomotiv's transfer chief Kirill Kotov as saying, "This is a versatile defender of the highest class." Kotov said many other clubs had vied for the 26-year-old's signature.

If this is true, and there's nothing anywhere that gives me any indication either way, then it makes sense. Bilic has coached Corluka for a number of years and bringing him in as he returns to managing a club football team seems logical. Corluka can play all across the backline and even some midfield and would almost certainly be an asset to a club that finished 7th in the league last year.

UPDATE: Here's Vedran signing his contract with Lokomotive Moscow from their official site.
