Happy Thursday Spursland! Yes, it's me substituting yet again for our resident "funny man" TheRoosevelts. It seems that somehow he is unable to manage both grad school and writing ONE POST A DAY for this blog. As a result you're stuck with me and my attempts to be jocular about all things Spurs.
And now the "news"
Luka Modric Needs to Leave Tottenham - ESPN
The original source for this article is Marca, which in my book is the Spanish version of the Daily Mail, so take this with a grain of salt. You would thing Bale signing an extension would encourage Luka to stay, but what do I know. I maintain my stance that if he wants to leave, let him leave, but let's make sure we get plenty of money for him.
Liverpool Put Off By Sigurdsson's Wage Demands - Liverpool Echo
Apparently we're offering Gylfi 50% more than what Liverpool was willing to offer. I'm not sure how that's possible, but good for us. Also from this article, Sigurdsson is supposed to undergo a medical at White Hart Lane on Friday. Might we see a press conference announcing double signings on Monday?
Looks Like Harry's Nightclub Ban Is Officially Over - The Mirror
So, Steven Pienaar, who may or may not be a Spurs player come August, punched and kicked the son of a deputy minister of public service while at a night club in Johannesburg. Sounds like he's enjoying his offseason.

Spain Win Euro 2012 Semifinal on Penalties -SB Nation Soccer
I want Italy to their semi-final tonight because I'm currently in Italy and if Italy win this tournament the celebration is going to be bananas. However, the football fan in me would sooner gouge my eyes out with a rusty spoon than watch Italy play Spain in the final.
CC Sabathia has injured his groin - SB Nation Baseball
I know that this has absolutely nothing to do with football or anything else you might be interested in, but it gave me an excuse to post THIS GIF of exactly how CC sustained this injury. Enjoy.
Speaking of GIF's, Here Are Some Men's Softball GIF's - SB Nation
Yesterday was obviously a slow sports day, but these are a little fun, right? Right? I'll show myself out.
