Daniel Levy has a policy of not taking a loss when he sells players, but he'll probably be making an exception in the case of Sebastien Bassong. The central defender hasn't been playing well, is now 25-years-old, and isn't going to find a suitor willing to pay that much. He does, however, have a few potential suitors, and Tottenham Hotspur will probably be happy to collect any transfer fee and get him off the books.

The Guardian are claiming that AS Monaco are interested in signing Bassong, and that Bassong would like to join up if possible. Monaco recently won promotion from Ligue 2 (edit: lol I suck at reading) have hired Claudio Ranieri to attempt to return the team to their past glory. The Guardian are also claiming that Lokomotiv Moscow and Rubin Kazan are interested in Bassong.

This is a very ... uhh ... Mail-esque article from The Guardian. They don't provide any sourcing. They've kind of lost their rep for keeping a much higher standard than the other English papers since the Gareth Bale transfer exclusive fiasco, but I'm still more inclined to believe a transfer rumor from them has some legitimacy than one from somewhere else.

Bassong doesn't have a prayer at cracking Tottenham's team next season, and Spurs should probably try to work out a deal to send him elsewhere as soon as possible.
