Madrid Willing To Send Nuri Sahin To Spurs, But Don't Expect Him To Come

It's time for everyone's favorite ridiculous column, the Daily Mail's transfer insider! Where a great deal of what they print is proven to be rubbish every year, but we continue to read because it's all in good fun. You don't have anything better to do in July, do you? It's not like we have preseason games to talk about yet. Today's super fun rumor is that Real Madrid would like Nuri Sahin to go on loan at Tottenham Hotspur as part of the Luka Modric transfer.

This is interesting because we previously thought that a Sahin loan, loan to buy or transfer as part of a Modric transfer wouldn't happen because Madrid didn't want it to happen. If the Mail report is right (lol), Madrid would like him to go to Spurs, but he's in discussions with other teams. Additionally, Andre Villas-Boas could have his heart set on Joao Moutinho, and therefore be completely disinterested in a Sahin loan.

I find it hard to believe that Villas-Boas would not want to accept Sahin on loan with Madrid paying a portion of his wages, even if he's certain that he's going to buy Joao Moutinho with the Modric money. Sahin's a quality player, and he's only had a couple of days with Tom Huddlestone in training. No one knows how he's going to look in a game situation.

Also, I can't stress enough that this is THE INSIDER from The Mail and that it we're really just talking about this for fun. Please do not buy too much into stuff from the Mail.
