Happy Friday, Spursland! TheRoosevelts is at a wedding rehearsal and is too drunk to provide you with your daily dose of coffee, so you're all stuck with me as your fill-in writer. I wish I had some super exciting thing to write before we get to the news, like a comparison of current Premier League managers to great American Presidents or how Daniel Levy is a character from a popular television show that I don't watch or understand, but I'm too tired to come up with anything like that. So this is the introduction that you get. Hope you're happy.
And now the "news":
Kevin always tells me that there are some authors at Bleacher Report that don't turn out complete and utter crap. I have yet to read a piece written by one of them. Aside from the author referring to Tottenham as "the Spurs" this article is at least intriguing. Sure, Luka Modric could be a distraction, but will the team really be better off without him? I think not.
Ok, I'm not going to pretend that I knew a lot about Mark Lawrenson before I Googled him. I'm not going to dispute that he's a legen or that he is entitled to an opinion on this issue. I will say, however, that I think all "legends" should just shut up when it comes to modern football. Honestly, I don't care what any former players think about what Bale said or what Adam did. You're retired. Shut up.
What's happening around SB Nation after the jump.
Someone has a lot of time on their hands and instead of using it to make the world a better place or helping me write my law review paper they used it to hack the Twitter accounts of several MLB teams. I noticed no one bothered to hack the Kansas City Royals account, which is not surprising. Don't worry, no one cares about the Orioles either.
Look, I don't like the NBA (sorry johnf34), but this is ridiculous. 156 points in one game? I support David Stern's idea of making this a U-23 competition. Because I can't handle watching this crap. I want there to be some excitement and intrigue.
Ever noticed how TheRoosevelts links to the same five websites? SB Nation soccer, Bloody Elbow, WAGNH, the Short Fuse, and, lately, Coming Home Newcastle are the only sites you ever get links to. Well, I'm going to provide you with a link to Progressive Boink, which is the only site on the internet. It's funny. You should read it; if only because you'll never see it in the Hoddle again.
