Remember Yann M'Vila? He was the midfielder that was going to be the great signing of the sumer for Tottenham Hotspur. He would slot in Luka Modric's spot in the midfield, even if he was a very different player, but he is a France international and a rumored Arsenal target.

It's been a while since we've heard M'Vila rumors. He kind of just drifted away a few weeks ago as Rennes locked in on their valuation of the player and Spurs turned their attention elsewhere. Joao Moutinho and eventually Moussa Dembele became much more popular names, but M'Vila is still unsold and still on the market.

Position: Defensive Midfield

Age: 22

With Rennes since: 2004 in the academy, 2009 as a professional

Claim to fame: Becoming a regular for France at the age of 20, helping them rebound from an embarrassing 2010 World Cup and eventually starting at Euro 2012.

Likelihood he's purchased: Very unlikely. Rennes are still asking for a lot of money for him and he's a defensive midfielder, which Spurs already have one of in Sandro so it's not exactly a great fit.

What's his role if purchased?: It's tough to imagine Sandro spending a bunch of time on the bench after the way he's developed so if he is bought then Spurs will probably end up playing conservatively with two holding midfielders.
