Tottenham Hotspur and Olympic Lyon have engaged in this weird back and forth over French international goalkeeper Hugo Lloris. Yesterday the deal was believed to be off, but it now seems to be back on. L'Equipe is reporting that Lloris is on his way to London for a medical with Tottenham this afternoon and is expected to sign a contract with Spurs after that.
The deal is believe to be for €12 million with an additional €3-4 million in add-ons. This deal would represent a huge coup for Tottenham Hotspur as it's not every day that world class goalkeepers are available for around £10 million. Yesterday Lyon President Jean-Michel Aulas announced that the deal was nowhere close to being done, but L'Equipe believes now that this was merely a ploy to squeeze a few more Euros out of Daniel Levy, which we all know never works.
The problem now is that Tottenham will have four senior goalkeepers in the team. I would expect one of them, most likely Brazilian keeper Heurelho Gomes to be sold today or loaned out in the near future. Maybe Q.P.R. would like another goalkeeper.
For serious everyone. This is crazy. We're not even close to the deadline and everything seems to be happening. How many sales and loans are there going to be today!
