Here you go, Clint Dempsey brigade! There's a big group of supporters at this site who have been pushing for Tottenham Hotspur to chase Dempsey might have gotten their wish. According to FOX Soccer, who are citing sources at Sky (a partner of theirs; NewsCorp owns both FOX and Sky), Spurs have made a bid for Dempsey.
Sources have told our partners at Sky that TOTTENHAM have made a late bid for Clint Dempsey.

All I have to say is ... wow. I didn't expect Spurs to enter the chase now that they have Gylfi Sigurdsson and Moussa Dembele, but Dempsey is versatile and could play either wing, attacking midfield, or even striker in a pinch. I've always thought less of him as a potential fit for Spurs than others on this site, but he's a good player and would be a bargain if the price is going to be well under £10m. I'm sure we'll have more soon.
