Only one more friendly! After today's match at Valencia Tottenham will turn their attention squarely to Newcastle and the start of the Premier League season, ending our summer of discontent and beginning of season of unease. Ahhhh, the life of a Spurs fan sure if grand, isn't it?
Spurs are going with the closest to first team starting lineup they have with the only non-first choice players being William Gallas and Jermaine Jenas, who is playing because the team doesn't have another option in the center (and that's the only reason that he will ever play). It will be worth watching how the back line does, especially how they move together. That is doubly true for Johnny Verts, who is still having some growing pains with the new team.
Spurs (4-2-3-1): Brad Friedel; Kyle Walker, William Gallas, Jan Vertonghen, Benoit Assou-Ekotto; Jermaine Jenas, Jake Livermore; Aaron Lennon, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Gareth Bale; Jermain Defoe.
You can watch the match on SpursTV if you are in the UK or on BeInSport.TV if you are in the U.S. This is your open thread so have at it.
