Happy Spursday, Spursland! The doom and gloom of the international break is finally behind us and it's finally time for Tottenham Hotspur Football Club to get back to actually playing football. Today, Spurs take on Reading at the Madjeski. Neither side has won a Premier League game yet this year and both, obviously, will be looking to change that.
Tottenham Hotspur are still without Younes Kaboul due to long-term injury and now it seems like fullback Benoit Assou-Ekotto is also mysteriously injured. Kyle Naughton will make his first ever start for Tottenham Hotspur in the Cameroonian's place. Clint Dempsey and Emmanuel Adebayor are also still not 90 minutes fit. Both begin the match on the bench.
Reading XI (4-4-1-1): McCarthy; Gunter, Harte, Gorkss, Pearce; Karacan, Leigertwood, McAnuff, McCleary; Guthrie; Pogrebnyak
Subs: S. Taylor, Shorey, Mariappa, Cummings, Robson-Kanu, Le Fondre, Hunt
Tottenham Hotspur XI (4-2-3-1): Friedel; Walker, Gallas, Vertonghen, Naughton; Sandro, Dembele; Sigurdsson, Bale, Lennon; Defoe
Subs: Lloris, Caulker, Dawson, Huddlestone, Townsend, Adebayor and Dempsey
Kickoff is at 4 p.m. local time, 11 a.m. ET from the Madjeski. You can watch the game on FOX Soccer Channel or FOX Deportes in the States. It's on Sportsnet World in Canada and Sky Sports 1 in the UK. Please do not discuss alternative means in the comments.
