Tottenham Hotspur vs. Manchester United: Don't tread on us

Don't tread, don't tread, don't tread on this.

Clive Mason

Manchester United came to White Hart Lane and attempted to tread on Tottenham Hotspur, which is always a very bad idea. DON'T TREAD.

R.I.P. DJ Screw.

Clint Dempsey put in a much deserved stoppage time equalizer for Spurs, securing a point in a 1-1 draw against Manchester United. Aaron Lennon, who was the man of the match by a large distance, set up the goal. Spurs had all of the possession and chances in the second half, but repeatedly squandered them until Dempsey's goal.

United's goal came on the 25th minute, on a great ball to the back post from Tom Cleverley to Robin van Persie. He was able to find his way between Kyle Walker and Michael Dawson and nodded in the opening goal easily. The Red Devils' chances were limited after that, as they surprisingly attempted to hold onto a 1-0 win rather than trying to pile on.

Spurs probably should have won the match, and would have if Dempsey and Jermain Defoe were better in front of goal, but this is not the time to go Negative Nancy. We've taken four points in the league from United, and we're the first team to deny United a win when van Persie scores.
