Hellooooooo, Holtby. The addition of the German star has added some new energy around Tottenham Hotspur, coming off a disappointing FA Cup exit on the weekend to Leeds United. The attacking midfielder is reportedly in the 18 for today's game, as he might make an addition that boosts Spurs in their pursuit of a top-4 finish.
If he does, it will be in today's trip up to Norwich City. Norwich City sits a solid 13th in the table. However, the team has suffered declining league fortunes, unable to achieve a win since December 15th. The attack has still been led Grant Holt, but the striker has been nowhere near as effective as last season. Anthony Pilkington and Robert Snodgrass have provided some creativity, while former Spurs defender Sebastien Bassong has marshaled the defense.
As for the Prediction League, on Mechanick had a draw predicted against Manchester United, hitting it perfect for full points. The rules remain the same in the Prediction League--one point for a correct prediction, a bonus point for getting the score correct. Here are the current standings:
Name | Score |
Ashlock | 18 |
Petrilli | 16 |
Mechanick | 16 |
Ed | 13 |
Ryan | 12 |
Kevin | 12 |
Uncle Menno | 11 |
The Roosevelts | 9 |
This week's predictions:
Kevin: LEWIS HOLTBY! ON HIS PREMIER LEAGUE DEBUT! 1-0 Spurs.
Mechanick: Deuce get's it right, get it tight. 1-0 Spurs
Ryan: I'm optimistic and I don't know why. That's scary. 2-0 Spurs.
Ashlock: Time for a big win. 3-0 Spurs.
The Roosevelts: This is a cup game right? Norwich couldn't possibly be in the Premiership. 3-0 Spurs
Ed: If we hadn't just tied down Holtby I would have called this one as a 1-0 for Norwich. But we have, and I think the energy around the club off and on the pitch surrounding his signing will lift Spurs to a win here. 2-1 Spurs.
Petrilli: 2-1 Spurs. Brad Friedel scores two crackers in his debut at striker.
Uncle Menno: This has all the makings of a trap game. McCauley may think we've "got it out of our system" but even with Holtby (HOLTBY, Y'ALL!), we're playing at Carrow Road. I'm thinking this is a 2-2 Draw.
