Possible Tottenham Hotspur arrivals: Eder

Sorry for that dip into fantasyland with the Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang post. Let's get a bit more realistic and talk about a player who has been actively linked to Tottenham: Eder from Sporting Braga.

This post is part of a deadline morning series on potential Tottenham transfers. You can find all of the posts in the series right here, as well as the initial post explaining this series right here.

Out of nowhere, Portuguese publication A Bola linked Tottenham Hotspur to Portuguese international Eder, who plays for Sporting Braga. He's just joined Braga this summer, but has been impressive for them in half a season. Braga is a well-run club that is financially stable, but they stay financially stable by buying undervalued players and making sales when they get great offers. The A Bola report is hardly outrageous.

Quick bio: Eder is a Portuguese international striker who was born in Guinea-Bassau. He signed for Sporting Braga from Academica in 2012. He's scored 14 goals in his last 30 league games, for those two clubs.

Age: 25

Likelihood he's transfered today: Who knows?

Potential suitors: Same answer as above. He could go to a Serie B team or Arsenal and I wouldn't bat an eyelash.

Price if he's sold: From €4-8m

Are Spurs the front-runners?: If they want to give Braga enough money that it represents a quick six-month profit on their player, sure. We'd almost certainly be the biggest club in for him if the A Bola report has any legs.

The verdict - Could he be a Spurs player on February 1?: Yes, absolutely. Will he be? I doubt it. I assume that Leandro Damiao is Tottenham's first choice, and they probably rate the Lyon group of strikers ahead of Eder as well. But if a deal for none of Damiao, Lopez or Gomis is realistic? I could definitely see Daniel Levy chucking down £5m, Braga taking it, and Eder agreeing to personal terms quickly.
