UPDATE: LEWIS HOLTBY SIGNS! IT'S OFFICIAL!
A couple days ago we brought you the news that Tottenham Hotspur have begun talks to sign a pre-contract agreement with exciting German tyro Lewis Holtby.
Now it appears that things are heating up, and Bild is reporting that we have offered wages for his signature in the summer.
Tottenham offer Lewis Holtby wages of €4.3m per season, according to Bild. He will leave Schalke at the latest in summer. #thfc

That works out to roughly £3.9m per season, or £67,000 per week. It would instantly put him at the high end of our wage scale, but for a player of his quality who doesn't cost a transfer fee, it should prove well worth it.
This would be a great bit of business for the club, and if Levy pulls it off that's one more reminder that he is a Jedi Ninja when it comes to transfer negotiations.
