Writers Prediction League - Spurs vs. Hull City Tigers

The writers at Cartilage Free Captain predict the result for Tottenham Hotspur's match at Hull City.

Gareth Copley

Keeping pace. Tottenham Hotspur enter today in 7th place, needing three points to keep pace with league leader Arsenal and the threatening Liverpool. Spurs of late have been marked by the emergence of Andros Townsend as a star player, as the young winger scored yet again last weekend. However, youth is emerging all over the team. Vlad Chiriches has begun to emerge, putting on a clutch defensive performance in this week's Europa League.

Today's match sees Spurs host Hull City. The Tigers currently sit in midtable on 11 points. The team has been led by Robbie Brady, as the young Irish winger is leading Hull in scoring with three tallies on the year. With Danny Graham injured, it could be Yannick Sagbo pairing with Sone Aluko up to for Hull. The former Spurs pairing of Jake Livermore and Tom Huddlestone have led the midfield, but Livermore's loan status will rule him out for the match. Maynor Figueroa has become a mainstay in defense, looking to shut down the threat of Townsend.

As for the Prediction League, Sleep and Mechanick have rose up the table with perfect predictions last week. The rules remain the same in the Prediction League--one point for a correct prediction and a bonus point for getting the score correct. Here are the current standings:

Name Score
The Sleeper's Sleep 9
Mechanick 8
Ed 7
MCofA 7
Ashlock 7
Kevin 6
Uncle Menno 6
Ryan 6
Petrilli 5
Lennon's Eyebrow 5
Skipjack 4
The Roosevelts

4

This week's predictions:

Kevin: I'm not optimistic about this team right now, but lol Hull. 2-0 Spurs

Mechanick: Tigers get nothing going offensively as Soldado runs rampant. 2-0 Spurs.

Ryan: My nana takes her wig off when she's drunk. 2-0 Spurs.

Ashlock: Remember the last time Hull was in the Premier League and their goalkeeper occasionally wore a baseball cap? I do. Spurs 3-0.

The Roosevelts: My one prediction... Pain. Also that I will eat a bagel during the match. So yeah 2 predictions. Sue me.
2-0 Spurs

Ed: 2-0 Spurs, as my glorious CFC retirement continues out here in this Maldives beach house *unhinged chuckle of a delusional goes here*.

Petrilli: 2-1 Spurs. It has to happen some day.

Uncle Menno: The feral donkeys on the road outside my beachside villa on St. John spoke to me today and told me that Hull City Tigers aren't very good. 3-0 Spurs. HEE-HAW!

MCofA: I wrote a program to do it for me. 4.8% 1-0 and 4.5% 2-0 by far the most common scores, just 2.7% 2-1.  1-0 Spurs.

The Sleeper's Sleep:THudd will break his goalscoring drought against us & cut his hair because of course. We win anyway. 4-1 Spurs

Lennon's Eyebrow: With Jake "Luka Modric" Livermore ineligible against his parent club, Hull don't stand a chance. They're crrrrrrrrrrrrrrrap. 2-0 Spurs.

Skipjack: Spurs 3 - 1 Hull City. Lennon and Townsend both have good games and the commentariat will have more stupid crap to argue about.
