An honest gauge of what fans think about Andre Villas-Boas' employment status

I'm seeing a lot of sensationalist headlines about how Tottenham fans want AVB out. I'm seeing a lot of commenters at this site asking for patience. How do we really feel?

Alex Livesey

A lot of people will probably see this post as inflammatory. Something to rile people up, that serves no purpose other than to get our undies in a bunch and put pressure on the manager. I promise, that's not what I'm going for here.

It's just that I see a lot of people that are a part of this community banging the drum for AVB, asking unruly fans to trust the process and give AVB a chance. A lot of people think that it's okay that Spurs aren't playing well right now and that there's a lot of evidence pointing towards us being decent very soon. Mostly because there is plenty of evidence that we'll turn it around, even if the play on the pitch doesn't reflect that. It's a totally reasonable line of thinking.

But the line of thinking that this team is playing bad football, doesn't look like playing decent football and was bailed out of playing bad football last season by Gareth Bale's individual brilliance is equally valid. It's okay for people to get pissed off after our results against West Ham, Newcastle and Manchester City.

In between the extreme comments on either side of this debate and all of the sensationalist headlines I saw this morning about how SPURS FANS WANT AVB OUT, I'm not sure how people actually feel right now. So below, we have a poll. This isn't to rile people up, but more to get a grip on what people actually think right now.

Is AVB actually walking on thin ice, or is this a patient bunch that thinks our luck is about to turn? Vote away.
