Writers Prediction League: Everton vs. Tottenham Hotspur

Over Hull. Tottenham Hotspur is coming off a week where Spurs played the Tigers twice, earning key wins for league play as well as the Football League Cup. But the wins were ugly, relying on a handball and penalty kicks to advance past Hull. Wing play has been huge for Spurs, as Gylfi Sigurdsson and Andros Townsend have found a rich vein of form and led Tottenham.

Today's match sees Spurs travel to Liverpool to face Everton. Everton sits in 7th place, only one point behind Tottenham. The team has been led by Romelu Lukaku, as the young Belgian striker has scored five league goals for The Toffees. Leighton Baines remains arguably the best left back in the Premiership, while Kevin Mirallas has been a major creator in attacking midfield. And Gareth Barry has had a smashing debut at his new club, filling in ably for the departed Marouane Fellaini.

As for the Prediction League, only MCofA foresaw a 1-0 victory for Spurs last week, bringing him right into the title hunt. The rules remain the same in the Prediction League--one point for a correct prediction and a bonus point for getting the score correct. Here are the current standings:
