I Wish I Knew How To Quit You: More Leandro Damiao Rumors

I'm sure that I've said that I don't care about Leandro Damiao, but new rumors coming out of Brazil may have changed my mind...again.

Leandro Damiao is THE striker that Tottenham Hotspur fans want. Unfortunately, both he and his club SC Internacional have, on several occasions, rebuffed Spurs. Now, however, it appears that Internacional are resigned to losing their star player this summer. Internacional's Director of Football, Luis Cesar Souto de Moura, told UOL:

"Leandro Damiao is indeed the player that is most likely to leave Internacional, especially because foreign clubs are interested. "Damiao is the player of the moment, everyone is seeing that. He is a great player, he’s very special."

This position seems to be a departure from what happened in January when, reportedly, Tottenham had a deal for Damiao all tied up, but Internacional raised their asking price at the last minute, scuppering the deal. Internacional have been incredibly hard to deal with on Damiao, so who knows what will actually happen.

If Internacional do decide to sell Damiao, then Spurs will likely face competition from Napoli, who are preparing for the potential loss of Edinson Cavani to one of England's big spending clubs. Other clubs that could be interested in the 23 year-old Brazilian include Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan.

I have such mixed emotions on Damiao. On the one hand, I want him to play for Tottenham Hotspur so badly. He's exactly the type of striker that Spurs need and I have no doubt that he would succeed at the club. On the other, the stupid "will he or won't he" dance that Tottenham has had to do with Damiao over the last 15 seasons (or 2 season, whatever) has been exhausting and I'm not sure he even wants to come.

So, what do you think? Do you still want him? Will he actually come to Tottenham?
