Dat North London Derby. After another uplifting performance from Gareth Bale launched Spurs into third place against West Ham, a new challenge looms from North London--Arsenal.
Sunday afternoon brings Arsenal to White Hart Lane to face Spurs. Arsenal have been up and down this season, currently sitting in fifth place, four points behind Spurs. This Arsenal team has largely been led by new arrival Santi Cazorla and improved play from Theo Walcott. Olivier Giroud remains the main option at striker, while Wojciech Szczesny is the mainstay in goal.
As for the Prediction League, most of the league dropped winning predictions on West Ham- Spurs. The rules remain the same in the Prediction League--one point for a correct prediction, a bonus point for getting the score correct. Here are the current standings:
Name | Score |
Ashlock | 20 |
Mechanick | 20 |
Petrilli | 20 |
Ryan | 16 |
Ed | 15 |
Uncle Menno | 14 |
Kevin | 13 |
The Roosevelts | 12 |
This week's predictions:
Kevin: Oh god. I'm going to be that guy. 5-2 Spurs.
Mechanick: Cazorla gets his, but Bale gets two. 2-1 Spurs
Ryan: If I say we're going to win, we'll lose. If I say we're going to lose, we'll lose. 2-1 Tottenham.
Ashlock: I have no idea what I predicted earlier this week, but I feel optimistic today. So, 3-1 Spurs.
The Roosevelts: You cannot stop the world's greatest Arsenal troll. Adebayor puts in 2, Spurs win 3-1
Ed: Imm'a stick by my guns and call this one as a tie, but goals are always inevitable in this fixture so it won't be a bore draw. 2-2 Draw.
Petrilli: 2-1 Tottenham. At halftime the teams wager on the outcome and decide loser leaves North London. Arsenal then moves to Caen where it belongs.
Uncle Menno: There will be goals. Oh yes, there will be goals. 3-2 Spurs.
