Writers Prediction League - Spurs vs. Manchester City

The writers at Cartilage Free Captain predict the result for Tottenham Hotspur's match vs. Manchester City.

Alex Livesey

Time to prove it. After a run of mediocre form, Tottenham finds itself outside of the top-4. But Gareth Bale has returned from injury, lifting Spurs ahead of the weekend's massive match hosting Manchester City.

City has been led by its well balanced attack trio of Carlos Tevez, Sergio Aguero, and Edin Dzeko, who have all tallied double digit goals. The combo of David Silva, Samir Nasri, and Yaya Toure have inspired from the midfield. With City on the edge of losing the league title, earning 3 points will certainly be the imperative.

As for the Prediction League, Mechanick has taken the title as we continue battling down the stretch for the title. The rules remain the same in the Prediction League--one point for a correct prediction, a bonus point for getting the score correct. Here are the current standings:

Name Score
Mechanick 25
Petrilli 24
Ashlock 21
Ryan 20
Uncle Menno 17
Kevin 17
Ed 15
The Roosevelts 15

This week's predictions:

Kevin: We'll stay alive and keep everyone's hopes up for the coming weeks with a solid performance, but we won't grab all three points. 1-1 Draw.

Mechanick: A rested Spurs squad takes care of a warn out City side, with Bale proving the difference. 1-0 Spurs

Ryan: Spurs will look brilliant and jump out to a lead, but they'll end up hanging on for dear life late in a 1-1 Draw.

Ashlock: The Spursiest thing would be for us to convincingly win this match and drop points against Stoke or Sunderland. 2-0 Spurs

The Roosevelts: No guts not glory...also no brain function. 3-2 Spurs in a shoot out.

Ed: Bleh. 2-1 City.

Petrilli: 2-1 Spurs. Over 20 Thatcher chants occur during the game.

Uncle Menno: Urrgh. This is as optimistic as I can get. 2-2 Draw.
