Aaron Lennon returned to training back on Wednesday, though his status for the upcoming Wigan Athletic game was far from certain at that point. Last night, Andre Villas-Boas confirmed that the Tottenham Hotspur right winger is back in contention to play this weekend.
"Aaron has trained with the team and is back in contention," said Andre. "It's good to have him back. He's a player who has had a great impact this season."
Lennon was rumored to be available for the Manchester City game, but was ultimately held out. Based on the way Andre Villas-Boas has eased players into the squad, along with Clint Dempsey's drastically improved form over the last couple of weeks, Lennon will probably be a second half sub. However, Villas-Boas did start Bale against City, and he went 90.
In any event, it's wonderful to have Lennon back and he'll be a massive boost to the team, whether that's in a start or a late cameo role.
