Tottenham Hotspur through to Under-21 Premier League final

Spurs' fledglings saw off Everton in a closely-fought match at White Hart Lane.

A brace from Jon Obika (one a dramatic diving header towards the end of the game) and an early strike from Alex Pritchard were enough to nose Tottenham's youngsters past a strong Everton side, who twice levelled the tie on a night which saw John McDermott's facing one of their toughest challenges of the whole season, yet emerge victors once again.

The result means that Spurs will play either Liverpool or Manchester United's youth sides in the final. Realistically, we probably want to face the former having beaten them in the sides' last meeting at Anfield, although the likes of Jon Flanagan, Conor Coady and Joao Carlos Teixeira won't roll over easily- expect an all-action climax to the U21s' best season for years. Liverpool and Manchester United face off in the other semifinal tomorrow, and Spurs will play away to whoever wins that game.

Well done once again to the yoof.
