Gareth Bale is Barclays Premier League Player of the Season

New, comments

The plaudits just keep coming for Tottenham's flying Welsh wing-forward.

Shaun Botterill

I don't even know if I even have any more ways of saying 'congratulations' or superlatives to trot out at this point any more, so I'm going to just give you the news straight: Gareth Bale has been named the Barclays Premier League Player of the Season, his fourth award for the season after taking home the PFA Player of the Year, Young Player of the Year and the Football Writers' Association Footballer of the Year.

We know at this point just how incredible a season Bale has had for Tottenham, because we've discussed it, analyzed it and rejoiced in every second of it together this year. All that matters now is what comes next. Please sign a new contract if it's there on the table, Gareth. We need you back with us next term.

Here's a fun little song to brighten up everyone's day.
