Tottenham Hotspur's team news is, for the most part, as expected. Younes Kaboul and Sandro remain out, while Emmanuel Adebayor and Moussa Dembele are in contention to play. Jake Livermore looks unlikely to make the 18-man squad, as Andre Villas-Boas revealed that he has a minor muscle tear, body part unspecified.
Andre Villas-Boas had the following to say after training on Thursday:
"Ade is back in training, so back in contention for the game. We have to see Mousa in training tomorrow and we can assess his chances better then. He's made good progress and run at different intensities, so hopefully we can have him back."
There's no word yet on how Dembele did in training on Friday and whether or not he'll be ready to go against Southampton. If he can't play, the midfield trio of Tom Huddlestone, Scott Parker and Lewis Holtby should be just fine, and it's nice to see that Dembele is already back in training. If he doesn't suffer a setback, it seems likely that he'll make the 18 against Chelsea.
Fullback Danny Fox and attacking midfielder Gaston Ramirez are both suspended for Southampton, while Richard Chaplow is out injured.
