Pick your team against Chelsea: Attacking midfield

Nine of 11 positions have been set by the community. Who should fill the other two slots?

Richard Heathcote

Sorry for the delay on this post, been caught up a bit with the Alex Ferguson stuff. Anyway, in our previous community team selection posts, you've picked everyone but the attacking midfield players. Because you selected a midfield three instead of a midfield two in our central midfielders post, there are just two spots left to fill. We didn't have a vote for goalkeeper, because duh, Hugo Lloris.

So far, you've selected:

Defense: Assou-Ekotto, Vertonghen, Dawson, Walker.

Central midfield: Huddlestone, Parker, Holtby

Striker: Adebayor

Keep that in mind when voting. Here are our options.

Bale - Lennon (regular correct-footed wingers)

Gareth Bale and Aaron Lennon look comfortable and contribute quite a bit defensively when they're regular wingers. They also cross pretty well when they're in these positions. The advantages are obvious, even if it hasn't been the norm for a lot of this season. Lennon seems fit to start, but did tweak his hamstring against Southampton. Something to keep in mind when voting.

Lennon - Bale (inverted and/or FRAAB)

The other way to play these two, either inside-out or with them doing so much FRAABing that their actual positions don't matter much. This would allow Bale to play a role similar to the one he's been playing in the second half of the season.

Bale - Sigurdsson

This team would end up looking more like a Christmas Tree than a 4-3-3 or 4-5-1. For those who hate asymmetrical things. Also, Sigurdsson is very good on set piece delivery.

Bale - Dempsey

For those who value Dempsey's work rate, physicality, height on set pieces and goal-poaching over Sigurdsson.

Vote away. We'll do a final team reveal around 5:30 pm UK, 12:30 pm ET.
