Pour one out for David Bentley and William Gallas, who were officially released by Tottenham Hotspur on Monday. Their releases were confirmed by reliable sources last week and the club just went ahead and made it official. While both were obviously not good enough to contribute to the first team anymore and on high wages that Spurs will be happy to get off their books, neither complained about management or deserving to play more and I hope they have more success next season with their new clubs.
Spurs also announced the releases of John Bostock, Jack Munns, Jack Barthram, Jake Nicholson and Dean Parrett, along with academy players Tom Gardiner, Mason Bush, William Ekong, Billy Grainger, Sam Smith and Victor Zapata-Caicedo. Remember when Bostock and Parrett were the gems of our youth system and future first teamers? Sob.
Shaq Coulthirst and Lawrence Vigouroux, two academy players, were signed to professional contracts. The club also announced the signings of some new academy players, listed below. Emphasis is mine.
Luke Amos, Channing Campbell-Young, Anthony Georgou, Cy Goddard, Shayon Harrison, Joshua Onomah, Joe Pritchard, Lloyd Ross, Harry Voss, Kyle Walker-Peters and Anton Walkes.
Yep, Kyle Walker-Peters. And wouldn't you know it?
CONFIRMED by @benmcaleer - Kyle Walker-Peters IS a rightback. There's no way this could get confusing...— James Maw (@JamesMawFFT) June 10, 2013
Going to lose if if he's half-black, half-white and built like a brick house.
